Christine Shropshire

Christy Shropshire is Associate Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. She previously served as an associate professor in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and received her doctorate from Arizona State University in 2008. Her research is broadly in the area of corporate governance, including board composition and effectiveness, diversity in the upper echelons, and stakeholder management. Her work has been published in a range of outlets including the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Organization Science. Some current projects explore the effects of diverse leadership on firm outcomes such as risk-taking and shareholder activism; governance innovations in board structure, executive compensation and shareholder engagement; and the evolution of board capital with firm growth and internationalization. Christy is serving a 2018-2020 leadership rotation for the Strategic Leadership and Governance interest group of the Strategic Management Society.
