Joseph P. H. Fan is Professor of Finance and Co-Director of the Institute of Economics and Finance at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from the Katz Graduate School of Business of the University of Pittsburgh. Before joining CUHK, he has taught at the University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is an expert in corporate finance and governance of emerging market firms. He is an Advisory Editor of Financial Management, Associate Editor of Corporate Governance: An International Review, International Review of Finance, Journal of Corporate Finance and Pacific-Basin Finance Journal. Prof. Fan has also served as a member of the Business Panel of Hong Kong Research Grant Council and has consulting activities with the World Bank, OECD, and Asian Development Bank. Currently, he serves as a member of the World Bank Doing Business advisory board.
