Niels Hermes is Full Professor of International Finance and Chair of the Department of Economics, Econometrics and Finance of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen, the Netherlands. He holds a PhD in economics from the same university. He is also visiting professor at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. He is editor of the journal Corporate Governance: An international Review and associate editor of the journal Corporate Ownership and Control. His research focuses on corporate governance, microfinance and international finance. His work on these topics is published in journals such as Economic Journal, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Business Ethics, International Business Review, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Economic Surveys, and World Development.
